Applying to Swedish universities is refreshingly centralised: almost everything goes through one portal, Universityadmissions.se. Here’s how Pakistani students apply for a master’s (or bachelor’s) in Sweden, step by step.
Where you apply
You create one account on Universityadmissions.se, choose up to four programmes (ranked in order of preference), upload your documents once, and pay a single SEK 900 application fee (non-EU students).
Entry requirements
- A completed bachelor’s degree (for master’s), or HSSC/equivalent (for bachelor’s).
- English proficiency — typically English 6, equivalent to IELTS 6.5 (no band under 5.5) or TOEFL equivalent.
- Transcripts and degree certificate, plus any programme-specific documents (CV, statement of purpose).
Key deadlines (autumn intake)
For the autumn semester, applications typically open in mid-October and close in mid-January, with the application fee and supporting documents due in early February. There is often a later application round, but the January round has the most places and scholarships.
Step by step
- Shortlist English-taught programmes that fit your profile and budget.
- Create your Universityadmissions.se account and add up to four choices.
- Upload transcripts, degree, English test and any SOP/CV.
- Pay the SEK 900 application fee.
- Apply for scholarships (SI and university waivers) in parallel.
- Receive results, accept your offer, pay tuition and apply for your residence permit.
